Not Just Another Museum

Not Just Another Museum - Mike Evans Museum
There are already thirty-two museums in Jerusalem. Isn’t that enough already? How can another one add anything to what is already here?

The answer to that question may not come from where most people expect. While most museums are built to preserve antiquities of some form of art, culture or history, the raison d’ĂȘtre for the Mike Evans museum, officially named the Friends of Zion Heritage Center, is to tell a love story that has been misunderstood, and even missed entirely, by the tellers of history. It is the story of the enduring love and compassion that true Christians have, and have had, for the Jewish people and now for the nation of Israel.

Dr. Mike Evans has dedicated his entire life to telling the story and to encouraging the people of Israel. This museum is yet another way of communicating that beautiful love story that so many so-called Christians have tarnished, so much so that the Jewish people – God’s chosen – have been unable to comprehend that anyone really loves them with the passion that Dr. Evans and Bible-believers around the world really do.

It would be correct to say that the Mike Evans Museum is unique, simply based on its use of 21st century technologies. Even calling it interactive does not suffice. It is an experience that takes visitors well beyond the ordinary and the expected.

Within these walls, visitors will become acquainted with the true stories of some of the men and women who have gone to great lengths to aid and protect the Jews, promote the cause of Zionism and preserve the nation of Israel. But, more than an education, our hope is that each person will sense the love of our staff for Israel and realize that it represents the love of multitudes among the nations who also love the special and sacred land.

Our expectation is that, within these walls every visitor will become acquainted with the stories of men and women who have gone to great lengths to aid and protect the Jews, promote the cause of Zionism and preserve the nation of Israel. But, more than the education, our hope is that each person will sense the love of our staff and realize that it represents the love of multitudes among the nations who also love them.

Politicians and men of high position throughout the ages have misappropriated the Christian label without understanding its true meaning and have often used that label to promote their personal agendas to persecute the Jewish people. Much to our mutual misfortune, this has led to misconceptions that Christians hate the Jews and cannot be trusted. The Mike Evans Museum exists as a beacon of assurance that those misconceptions are false.

We love you, Israel. We pray for your peace, Jerusalem. We bless you, children of Abraham. We know the plans that YHWH has for you, plans for you to prosper. We are here to demonstrate and teach you how much we care, and to share with you the stories of others who have gone before who have done the same. Shalom.

Museum to Feature Heroes of Israel

During your visit to the Mike Evans Museum in Jerusalem, officially called the Friends of Zion Heritage Center, you will encounter the stories of military heroes like General Marie-Pierre Koenig, Col. John Henry Patterson, and Major Orde Wingate, and political leaders like President Harry Truman, who did so much to prepare for Israel’s rebirth as a nation.

The list of heroes is even longer than those people though. Oskar Schindler, Irena Sendler, Miep and Jan Gies, Raoul Wallenberg, Chinue Sempo Sugihara, and, of course, the courageous Ten Boom family. These stories are largely untold in Israel to this day.

Even in the cases where the stories have been told, the Christian faith that drove these men and women to risk everything, and even give their very lives for the sake of the Jewish people, is largely unmentioned in the annals of history.

But we will also be sharing the amazing stories of the Machal—the volunteers, many of them Believers, who came from around the world to stand with the newborn Jewish state in its desperate fight for survival following the Declaration of Independence in 1948.

Of course, there were also those who hated the Jewish people and wished to do them harm. We will address the Holocaust head on—including the role of many who claimed to be Christians during this awful atrocity, but showed that they do not represent true Christian belief or practice.

It was this inspiration that gave me the vision of creating a museum in Jerusalem. I wanted to tell the story of Corrie’s family, which is virtually unknown to the Jewish people in Israel. Then I realized there were hundreds of other amazing stories that also needed to be told. And my vision of a Mike Evans Museum in Jerusalem, later became a reality, and officially is now called the Friends of Zion Heritage Center.

The Legacy of Ron Nachman

Ron Nachman passed away last week.  He was a friend of mine.  No, he was more than that.  He was a dear friend of mine.  If you did not know Ron, I’d like to introduce you to him.

Ron was a visionary.  Proverbs 29:18 says “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”  By implication, where there is vision, the people thrive.  In 1978 Ron pitched two tents in the barren Judean hills.  That was the beginning of Ron’s vision of the city of Ariel.  Like Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, Ron suffered mockery and opposition to his dream.  He would stand on the hilltop and described the vision embedded not only in his mind, but in his heart.  And the people would tell him he was foolish, reckless, and crazy.

He was a young man back in 1978 and at the midpoint of his life.  From the age of 35, Ariel was his dream, his burden, and his goal.  He chose to develop Ariel deep into the territory away from the Green Line.  And he was determined to build a city there that was unrivaled for a city of its size in Israel.  Though he formally staked his two tents in the middle of a barren region, he had plans that were far bigger than two tents.  Instead of hoping for new residents to dribble into his experiment, he approached large groups of people to join with him.  In effect, he drew entire communities of people – initially some 6,000 – so that Ariel would not be built as a disjointed collection of desert homes with a cobbled infrastructure, but rather, a place where the essentials of a city could be well planned for the moment and the future.

Today the population of Ariel is 20,000.  It is a regional center for surrounding communities.  Ron would never settle for average or anything else that was less than the best.  I am proud to have assisted Ron on many occasions to help his dream come true.  I am proud to sit on the board of Ariel University, the first accredited Israeli university in the West Bank and an institution that only Ron could see through the dust of the desert in 1978.  It was as real in his mind back then as it is for the students who walk its campus today.

A critical interviewer asked Ron, “How can you build in Occupied East Jerusalem?”  To which he replied, “I just came from my hotel room, where I searched for proof that this land belongs to the British.  I found a Bible there, but it made no mention of London.  It didn’t speak of Washington, DC, or Paris or Berlin.  But do you know how many times the word ‘Jerusalem’ appeared?  And you are asking me if we have rights to our capital city?”

In a later conversation Ron posed the question, “If this land was given to us by God, how can we be considered trespassers?”  His question is legitimate.  If God has given us something, who has the right to consider our gift invalid?  Ron’s vision, and that of all Zionists, was to possess the land was given to Israel by Jehovah God Himself.  The Jews are not interlopers; they are inheritors.  They are not claim-jumpers; they are the children of the Most High God.

As we mourn the passing of this great man, would you also join me in giving the Lord thanks for how he used Ron as an instrument to accomplish His will?  Of course, you know that I am going to ask you to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalm 122:6)  I always will.  But, if I may, I would like to ask you to pray for the next generation of young people in Israel, like those who are students at Ariel University.  Please pray that they will have a Ron Nachman kind of vision for building the nation of Israel and that they would not sell their birthright for a mess of pottage.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,
Dr. Mike Evans

Isaiah's Messiah

O Holy Night!  The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth!
When we look back with awe at what transpired in that little town of Bethlehem, we sometimes forget that we look back at what Israel had been looking forward to!  Told of many of the attributes of the coming Messiah by Isaiah, they waited for some 700 years from the time he penned the words ‘til the time they were fulfilled!  While we all know a spattering of what Isaiah said, God on the Net took time to put it all together, as the excerpt below shows!
"What is a prophecy?"
A prophecy is the future told in advance by God through a prophet.
Isaiah 48:2-5 [3] I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. [4] For I knew how stubborn you were; the sinews of your neck were iron, your forehead was bronze. [5] Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to you so that you could not say, `My idols did them; my wooden image and metal god ordained them.'
"Does the Old Testament contain any prophecies about the Messiah?"
Yes! The Old Testament contains about FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE prophecies about the Messiah. Here is a small sample (in roughly chronological order):
BE BORN AS A HUMAN MALE
Isaiah 9:6-7 [6] For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. [7] Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. ... 700 B.C.
BORN OF A VIRGIN
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. 700 B.C.
FROM THE HOUSE OF JUDAH
Isaiah 37:31 Once more a remnant of the house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above. 700 B.C.
FROM THE ROOT AND STUMP OF JESSE
Isaiah 11:1-5 [1] A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. [2] The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him-- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD-- [3] and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; [4] but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. [5] Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist. 700 B.C.
FROM THE HOUSE OF DAVID
Isaiah 16:5 In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it--one from the house of David--one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of righteousness. 700 B.C.
BE FROM NAZARETH OF GALILEE
Isaiah 9:1-2 [1] Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan -- [2] The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. 700 B.C.
What they waited for nearly a millennia to receive, we have had two millennia to be blessed by!  We know, however, that God has a Chosen People, and a Holy City!  That’s why as we celebrate “the reason for the season,” we should remember, as Psalm 122:6 tells us, to pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Israel Monitors Egyptian Rhetoric

The Israeli government and a human rights organization are keeping an eye on new expressions of anti-Semitism coming out of Egypt in light of the Muslim Brotherhood’s rise to power in that nation. There is also anxiety because the Obama administration has yet to speak out about it.

Fueling the latest concern was Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi’s reaction to an Imam’s prayer calling for the destruction of Israel. Last week influential Imam Futouh Abd Al-Nabi Mansour prayed, “Oh Allah ... grant us victory over the infidels. Oh Allah, destroy the Jews and their supporters.” Morsi was seen mouthing the word “Amen” to that prayer.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center points to Morsi’s action as just another example of a disturbing trend since Morsi took over the Egyptian presidency from predecessor Hosni Mubarak. “The rise to power of the Muslim Brotherhood has prompted open expressions of anti-Semitism in ways that were never publicly expressed during the Mubarak period," the center’s Efraim Zuroff  told Fox News, adding that the Obama administration “is treating this far less seriously than it should be.”

With their expressed goal of recapturing Jerusalem and the Al Aqsa (Golden Dome) Mosque, the Brotherhood’s spiritual leader, Mohammed Badie, told his followers, “Every Muslim is obliged to wage Jihad in order to restore it (Jerusalem) to Muslim rule. Allah would free the world of their (Jewish) filth and corruption...Jerusalem will be regained only through Jihad, not through negotiations.”

The Israeli government is also paying attention to the talk coming out of Egypt. “We have no illusions about the Muslim Brotherhood ideology," a senior Israeli diplomat told Fox News. "There is a sense of wariness here and an additional injection of uncertainty.”

The Wiesenthal Center’s Zuroff  says he’s troubled by the Obama administration’s inattention to the Brotherhood’s rhetoric. "They are giving Egypt’s new leadership tremendous latitude when it comes to things like this, despite the fact that these are the type of issues on which they should be held accountable,” Zuroff said.

History is littered with nations and people groups who have aligned themselves against the Jewish people. Such action is predicted in Zechariah 12:3: “

It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.” While this verse may look toward a future day of Armageddon, it has certainly seen its fulfillment in the 20th and 21st centuries. Pray today for the nation of Israel and their protection from forces that would destroy them.

PM Netanyahu Says “World’s Commitment is Hollow”

Dear JPT Member,
Greetings from the Holy City.
Some 120 nations from around the world sent representatives to a major conference in Tehran this week, legitimizing the murderous Islamic regime by their presence. Among their number was the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, the newly elected president of Egypt and Muslim Brotherhood member Mohammed Morsi, and the head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.
My old friend Prime Minister Netanyahu clearly pointed out the hypocrisy in an interview this week. He said, “Six million of my people were exterminated in an act of genocide. The world pledged ‘never again’; it passed treaties against genocide; it formed the United Nations; it made a commitment that this thing will never be repeated. Today, over 120 countries are in Tehran, saluting a regime that not only denies the Holocaust, but pledges to annihilate the Jewish state.”
The world may be able to pretend that Iran is just another nation with normal ambitions, but Israel cannot afford to make that mistake. I am here in the Jewish state as your ambassador, meeting with leaders and working to do everything we can to encourage and uplift and help a nation on the brink of war. They urgently need us right now—and we cannot afford to ignore the pleas for help of God’s Chosen People.
Barukh atah Adonai eloheinu melekh ha-olam, ozier Yisrael bigvurah.
Blessed art thou, Lord our God, King of the universe, who girds Israel with might.
Your ambassador to Jerusalem,
Dr. Mike Evans

The March of Remembrance

Yesterday over 400 people began a 1,300 mile walk of reconciliation across Poland, hoping to heal wounds that are now 70 years old.  Descendents of perpetrators of the Holocaust are walking side by side with descendents of survivors of the Nazi death camps in Poland.  The March of Remembrance has brought together participants from Poland, Germany, Israel, and the US.  Fifty of the German contingency are direct descendents of members of Wehrmacht, police, or the SS who were directly involved in gathering and killing six million Jews.
The group gathered at the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp and will follow a route that will take them through Treblinka, Kielce, Warsaw, Sobibor, Chelmno, Majdanek, and Belzec.  They will stop at each site for a memorial service, with the main service in Warsaw on Thursday, August 23rd.
The keynote speaker at the Warsaw memorial will be the Deputy Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Lia Shemtov.  She became involved with the idea while helping to host a convention honoring evangelical Christians and organizations that have provided aid to Jews who went through the Holocaust.  The idea for the event was roundly accepted, promoted, and brought to fruition this summer.
Ms. Shemtov told reporters that “These are incredible teenagers who discovered their tragic connection with the Jewish people and decided to follow the truth while seeking forgiveness.”
In her address at Warsaw she is expected to say that, “Sadly, the memory of the acts of the Holocaust haunts you even now when you, the next generation are exposed to the rising anti-Semitism in Europe, radical Islam's burning hatred and you, young men and women, who are the same age as 1.5 million children who were slaughtered in the Holocaust say 'no more!’”
Members of the German delegation have said that they want to use the occasion as a way to “find the words that their fathers and grandfathers never found,” and to “listen to the voices of the voices of the victims and their descendents” in the places where their ancestors wrought death and destruction.  They see it as an opportunity to honor those whose lives were lost and those who survived the nightmarish atrocities.
Of the six million Polish citizens who were murdered during the war, half of them were not of Jewish descent.  Poland became a land of “unspeakable suffering” during the war.  While some would deny that the Holocaust ever happened, and many would rather just forget that it happened, these young people are gathered to ask forgiveness for it happening and to remember those to whom it happened.
The March of Remembrance key Bible verse is Isaiah 62:1, “For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch.”  May we add, appropriately, II Corinthians 5:19, “God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them."  And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”  There is nothing uglier than sin and strife.  There is nothing more beautiful than reconciliation.

The Irena Sendler Story: An Honorary Citizen of Israel

Irena Sendler was 98 years old when she died in May of 2008.  Although she was not a Jew, she was an honorary citizen of Israel.  You should know why.
Born about 15 miles southeast of Warsaw, Irena was a 30-year old senior administrator in the city’s Social Welfare Department when the Nazis invaded Poland.  The department provided meals, medicine, and clothing to poor, elderly, and orphaned Poles.  Not long after the invasion she enlisted the aid of co-workers and began assisting Jewish families as well.
In 1942, when the Nazi’s established the Warsaw ghetto, Irena realized that the Jewish predicament was quickly degenerating.  She joined the Polish underground with a plan for rescuing Jewish children before they died.  She obtained a license to work as a plumbing and sewer specialist.  She also obtained a pass that allowed her to enter the ghetto as a representative of the Epidemic Control Department.  As her plan came together, she was able to take supplies into the ghetto and smuggle Jewish children out.
She would bring the children out in everything from sacks to toolboxes and coffins.  Some were hidden in carts under produce or other goods.  Even a dog catcher was used.  Often she would tape the mouths of babies and toddlers to that they would not make noise.  The dog catcher was especially effective as the barking dogs would keep the German guards at a distance.
Using her access to the sewer system, she was able to move the children about undetected until she could get them placed into one of more than 200 orphanages, convents, and other safe havens in and around Warsaw.  Her friends in the Welfare Department forged documents for the children, giving them Christian identities.
She once tried to describe how dangerous it was to smuggle or hide the children.  She said that there was nothing more dangerous at the time than hiding a Jew.  “You have a ticking time bomb in your home.  If they find out, they will kill you, your family, and the person you are hiding.”
Later in life she told how she still had recollections and nightmares, not so much of the smuggling itself, but of the hundreds of times that children and families wept as she took the children from her parents’ arms.  “Can you ensure their safety?” was the question she was most often asked.  She would answer that “No,” she could not.  She was frank enough to tell them that she couldn’t even guarantee that they would make it out of the ghetto alive.  It especially grieved her when parents would not let their children go.  She would always return to ask again, but sometimes the families were no longer there.
The German intelligence finally became aware of Irena’s activities.  They caught up with her on October 20, 1943, and took her to Pawiak prison.  Among the horrors that she faced there was having her legs and feet broken because she would not reveal the names of her co-conspirators.  She was being led to her execution along with a number of others, when one of the guards, who had been bribed by her friends in the underground, spirited her away unnoticed.  She went right back to rescuing more Jewish children.
Irena’s plan could not be completed until after the war.  She had kept meticulous track of the children and where they had been hidden through a collection of papers buried in glass jars beneath an apple tree in a neighbor’s yard.  When the war was over, she found that she had rescued over 2,500 children.  She set out finish the job by working to reunite the children with their parents.  Little had she thought aforetime that almost all of their parents would be killed in the death camps.
She would tell stories of how, years later, people would approach her and say, “I recognize you.”  They were children she had rescued.  That would be a moment of joy for most of us, but for Irena, she always said, “I could have done more.  This regret will follow me to my death.”
This is why Irena Sendler is an honorary citizen of Israel.
Let’s be thankful for her and many more like her.  Let’s pray that we would be as courageous if we were in a similar situation.  Let’s pray for God’s chosen people and for the peace of Jerusalem.

Will You Help Feed the Poor of the House of Israel Today?

My Scripture for you today: “Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto Thy holy name, and to triumph in Thy praise” (Psalm 106:47).

Dear Jerusalem Prayer Team Member,

Will you help feed the poor of the House of Israel today?

As you read these words today, almost one of every three Israeli children is living below the poverty line. Many of them do not have enough food to eat every day. The government is overwhelmed by the scope of the need and does not have the resources to provide for these precious little ones.  It breaks my heart because I know what it’s like to go to bed hungry and wish that someone cared. I remember looking in dumpsters for food and being terrified of coming across a rat. No child should have to live that way. And there is something we can do about it! With your help the Jerusalem Prayer Team can provide food and other basic life needs to the poor of the house of Israel.

Many years ago I met Reuven Hecht, the senior advisor to Prime Minister Menachem Begin. As we talked, I accidently called him Jacob. I immediately apologized, telling him it was because of jet lag…but he looked into my eyes and said, “My father called me Jacob on his death bed. He told me I was to feed the poor of Israel.” Ever since that day I have had a vision for helping these most needy of God’s Chosen People.

Will you show your love for God by helping these little ones today? Your support will help the Jerusalem Prayer Team show a testimony of salt and light to the Jewish people in this hour of great need. To help today, go here: http://jerusalemprayerteam.org/email/2012/0809-2.htm

Your support of the Jerusalem Prayer Team is vital as we work to gather believers from around the world to join us in prayer for the peace of Jerusalem and the protection of Israel…and as we work to meet the urgent needs of the poor of Israel. The Bible promises that when we give to the poor we are lending to the Lord—a debt that He will certainly repay. Please be as generous as you can when you give today.

Barukh atah Adonai eloheinu melekh ha-olam, ozier Yisrael bigvurah.
Blessed art thou, Lord our God, King of the universe, who girds Israel with might.

Iran Says Alliance with Syria is “Unbreakable”

My Scripture for you today: “For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands” (Psalm 92:4).

Dear JPT Member,

Iran says alliance with Syria is “unbreakable”

Syria’s besieged dictator Bashar Assad appeared in public for the first time in weeks as he met with Iran’s National Security Council head Saeed Jalili. Jalili proclaimed that the alliance between the two nations was “unbreakable.” Iranian troops are known to be operating inside Syria in defense of the government. Several dozen “volunteers” were captured a few days ago by forces fighting against the government. And the government of Turkey has blamed Iranian agents for much of the bloodshed in Syria.

It is impossible to overstate how grave the threat would be to Israel and the Jewish people if the Assad regime were to disintegrate. Iranian operatives have free reign to make plans for attacks across the Syrian border into Israel. Hezbollah is working to gain control of the massive chemical and biological weapons held by the government. And while Assad is no friend to Israel, what follows his fall might well be even worse.
I have stood many times in the north of Israel along the Golan Heights. There the enemies of Israel have launched attacks again and again on the Jewish people. My information from Israel is that the Israeli Defense Forces stationed in the northern part of the country are on the very highest alert because of the great danger.
My heart is breaking because I know the toll the constant threat of danger takes on the people of Israel. So many times I have gone there as your ambassador to bring comfort and help to God’s Chosen People. Today I am asking for your help again so that we can meet the urgent needs of the poor of the house of Israel. Hunger is stalking the land—especially among the children. About one third of Israeli children are below the poverty line and many struggle to find enough food to eat.

I know what it’s like to go to bed hungry and wish that someone cared. Will you show your love for God by helping these little ones today? Your support will help the Jerusalem Prayer Team show a testimony of salt and light to the Jewish people in this hour of great need.

Ahmadinejad Calls for “Annihilation” of Israel

My Scripture for you today: “For He that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is His name” (Luke 1:49).
In a speech to ambassadors from other Islamic countries gathered in Tehran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for the “annihilation of the Zionist regime” as a necessary step to world peace. Clearly revealing his violently anti-Semitic worldview, Ahmadinejad said, “It has now been some 400 years that a horrendous Zionist clan has been ruling the major world affairs, and behind the scenes of the major power circles—in political, media, monetary, and banking organizations in the world, they have been the decision makers.”
When I met this demon-possessed man in New York City two years ago, it was clear to me that he will do anything in his power to carry out his dream of destroying Israel. The branch of Islam he follows believes that a violent and bloody war is essential to the return of the “twelfth Imam” and Muslim rule over the entire world. He is more than willing to die to achieve this goal.
The fact that he is willing to say things like this in public only highlights the vital importance of our support for Israel and the Jewish people. We MUST stand with and for Israel right now. God’s Chosen People are in the crosshairs of a deadly threat, and they need our help.

I Prayed “Lord, Would You Convert What I Have into Supernatural Favor?”

My Scripture for you today: “He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee” (Job 5:19).

Dear Jerusalem Prayer Team Member,

One of my favorite Scriptures, if not my very favorite Scripture in the entire Bible is Luke 2:52: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” On my wrist is a band with that Scripture and the words, “Living in the F.O.G.—Favor of God.” If you’re not wearing a wristband like this one, why not request it when you send a gift? Let me show you how the favor of God can transform your life.

Several years ago, I was invited to meet with one the most brilliant mathematicians in the world. His name is Professor Robert J. (Israel) Aumann. In 2005, Professor Aumann won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. Because he is such a busy individual, I was informed by his assistant that our meeting would last only fifteen minutes.

As I drove to the professor’s home, I prayed that the Holy Spirit would give me favor with man, specifically one man, Israel Aumann. I said, “Lord, I have equity, but no currency. I have influence, but I have no favor with this man. Would you convert what little I have into supernatural favor?”

As we met together, I asked him a question about the news. I was astonished to find that Professor Aumann had not watched television, listened to the radio, or read a newspaper since 1972. He said, “I do not put into my mind anything that is not relative to its objectives.” Once a day, he was given a briefing paper with anything noteworthy.

During our time, I asked him one question that seemed to intrigue him: “Professor, you are a man of faith and a man of science. Can you tell me how those two things co-exist so comfortably in a world where scholarship often rejects faith?”

“That is an excellent question,” he remarked. “It’s a tragedy that I don’t have enough time to answer it. When I gave five days of lectures in Oslo, that was one of my topics. Neither I nor my smartest student could calculate where it could be found on the transcript. It was not printed. It was just a verbal lecture. It is in a computer somewhere.”

As he walked me to the door and I stepped outside, the professor said, “Breathe deeply.” As I did, he said, “You’ve just breathed in about sixteen atoms that were exhaled from the mouth of Jesus on the cross. I’ve calculated the time and density.” I turned to walk away and muttered, “20-29.” Mr. Aumann stopped me. “What did you say? It sounded like two numbers.”

I responded, “Oh, it’s just jetlag.” He continued to prod until I responded, “I don’t think it’s anything more than that,” but I repeated the numbers to him.

“Imagine.” he said, “What if it began precisely at the top of page 20 and ended precisely at the bottom of page 29? This would be absolutely impossible for any man to deduce.”

He became so intrigued that he invited me back inside and had his personal assistant contact Oslo. He discovered that was exactly what had happened. The lecture began on page 20 and ended on page 29. He turned to his aide and said, “Cancel my appointments. I’m going to spend the morning with Dr. Evans.”

I said, “I don’t think you want to do that. I don’t know a thing about mathematics. The only thing I did as I was driving to your home was ask the Holy Spirit to give me favor with you.” He cried, “Mathematics! I’m not clearing my schedule to discuss mathematics. I’m clearing my schedule because there is a new field of science that has never been researched—the field of how the Ruach Hakodesh (Hebrew for “God’s breath” or the Holy Spirit) can activate the cerebral mind to come up with such genius.”

May God bless you today and give you favor with man—not by your might, nor by your power, but by His Holy Spirit. Will you join me today in a project of great faith that will turn God’s head and hand toward our lives?

Tomorrow, the $3,000,000 payment on the Jerusalem World Center is due. I am asking you to be part of this miracle…and especially if you need to see God do something great in your life. If you will take this step of faith along with us, I believe God will greatly bless you according to His promise in Genesis 12:3.  To donate GO HERE.:

One Day Left for a Miracle!

Dear Jerusalem Prayer Team Member,

Please join me in praying this prayer of faith and agreement right now: Father, I thank you today that I am prospering. Your Word says that those who pray for the peace of Jerusalem shall prosper. I also thank you that I am blessed. Your Word also declares in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless them that bless thee.”

I trust in You with all my heart. I do not lean unto my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge You, and You have promised to direct my path. Father, you are the Lord Who heals me. You are watching over Your Word to perform it. Your Word is filled with healing power, and I receive Your Word now. God is in me; my body is the temple of the Lord. God, you are bigger than sickness, adversity, or the attacks of the Enemy.

I declare to my mountain just how big my God is. Father, I thank you today that I am free from unforgiveness and strife. I forgive others as Christ has forgiven me. For the love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. Because of Your Word, I am an overcomer—I overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of my testimony.

Heavenly Father, I attend to Your Word. I incline my ears to Your sayings. I will not let them depart from my mouth. I keep them in my heart, for they are light and healing to all my flesh. No evil shall befall me, neither shall any plagues come near my dwelling, for You have given Your angels charge over me. They shall keep me in all my ways. In thy pathway is life, healing, and health.

After you have prayed that prayer with me, will you join me in making the miracle of the Jerusalem World Center a reality? Jerusalem is Ground Zero for spiritual warfare in our world today. It is the target of the enemy, and it is vital that you and I do our part to not only pray for the peace of Jerusalem, but to speak out
in support of Israel’s right to her capital city. One of the most important tools for us to fight and win this battle will be the Jerusalem World Center. This beautiful five-story building in the Holy City—within walking distance of the Temple Mount—will be a lasting testimony of salt and light to God’s Chosen People and a bulwark of their defense.

I am so grateful to God for how far we’ve come, but now we must take this next step. There is just one day left for us to raise the rest of the funds we need for the $3,000,000 payment on the 31st. In the natural this is impossible…but with God—and God’s people voting YES with their wallets—all things are possible!

So far 1,960 loving friends have given $314,200 toward this payment.

Sanctions on Iran Force Interest Rates Higher

by Mike Evans

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has apparently agreed to increase Iran’s interest rate to 21 percent causing the populace of his country to become increasingly worried about the economy and the toll on future income. It appears that the sanctions imposed by world leaders are having an effect—although Ahmadinejad denies the squeeze. According to various sources, the impact of the sanctions is supposed to bring Iran’s oil industry to its knees. Not so! Countries such as Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Italy, South Korea, Spain, Greece, Turkey, and South Africa have remained aloof and refused to join the United States and European Union in banning the import of Iranian crude. These countries represent a petroleum import ratio of anywhere from 10 percent to 100 percent.

The pinch, however, is being felt in the area of foreign currency sales. According to the Iran news agency in Tehran, Ahmadinejad has upped interest rates on bank deposits to “up to 21 percent.” Iranians have been instructed to buy dollars only when traveling.

Hoarding of U.S. currency had become de rigueur in aristocratic circles in the country. It was the currency to covet, but no longer. Now it will be at a premium, and will require government permission to purchase dollars. Ahmadinejad has acknowledged—albeit subtly—that the sanctions have seriously worsened the value of the Iranian rial. One anonymous Iranian politician depicted the current economy as the worst since the Iran/Iraq war.

Raising the interest rates in Iran resembles the tactics of the Jimmy Carter administration to curb run-away inflation. Under his governance, the Federal Reserve continued to raise interest rates to double digits. It was great for job creation, but prices were so high the newly-hired could not afford to purchase goods and services. The result was what came to be known as “stagflation.”

The countries that joined forces to impose sanctions on Iran did so in hopes of restricting the amount of currency available to purchase the materials and expertise needed to continue its nuclear pursuits. The weaker rial triggered a run on gold and foreign currency and further exacerbated the problem as Iranians withdrew savings in order to make their purchases. Iran’s economy has been further destabilized. People such as students, medical patients, and business owners seeking to purchase dollars or other foreign currencies will be forced to prove need before a supply is made available. Raising the interest rate is a risky move on Ahmadinejad’s part as inflation continues to rise despite the increase. It puts his leadership position in the upcoming March elections at risk in a parliament already critical of the despotic president.

The sanctions, far from causing the Iranians to rethink their resolute rush to gain nuclear weapons, have resulted only in a more defiant attitude, and have been labeled “ineffective.” That would, of course, be more effective were China and India to join the list of countries imposing restrictions on Iran.

If the Iranian people grow tired of Ahmadinejad’s machinations, could we see a repeat of the tactics used to overthrow the Shah of Iran? A weapon used by the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini when he engineered the overthrow of the Shah was oil-related strikes. He took full advantage of the freedom to use the media for his purposes. The Ayatollah began to urge the workers in Iran – from oil workers to garbage haulers – to go on strike. Students were encouraged to riot in support of the working class. The strikes proved to be very efficient at creating dissention. The strikes spread from the Tehran oil refinery to the oil refineries at Isfahan, Abadan, Tabriz, and Sharaz. In one week, oil production fell by three million barrels.

Should the Iranian people again employ that strategy against their government, blood will flow in the streets of the villages, towns, and cities of that country. When the people revolted following Ahmadinejad’s re-election in 2009, President Barack Obama did nothing to help them defend themselves against reprisals. They would, I imagine, be very reluctant to try a second time unless the US rallies behind them and the Western press is supportive. If that does not happen, then there is little chance of revolution in Iran.

Following the taking of the US embassy in Tehran, President Carter tried to use sanctions to gain an advantage, all to no avail. The Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was as strong-minded in his determination not to give up the hostages as Ahmadinejad is in his unwavering resolve to secure a nuclear advantage. The fact that oil prices are rising in the West only serves to strengthen his decision to thumb his nose at the sanctioning countries.

Egyptian President Morsi Demands Release of Terrorist

by Mike Evans

On February 26, 1993, the first wave of jihad terrorists hit the World Trade Center in New York City. A truck bomb parked in an underground lot was supposed to topple the towers and kill as many as 250,000 in the complex. This plot had been planned and organized by Egyptian Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman who said, "The obligation of Allah is upon us to wage jihad for the sake of Allah. . . . We have to thoroughly demoralize the enemies of Allah by blowing up their towers that constitute the pillars of their civilization . . . the high buildings of which they are so proud.”

In my first book, Israel, America’s Key to Survival in 1980, I began warning of the possibility of a terror attack. I was told by the former head of Israeli intelligence, Isser Harel, on September 23rd of that year that the United States had the power to stop Islamic terror but not the will. He also opined that the first attack would be in New York City and on its tallest building. The Jerusalem post published an article on that interview on September 30, 2001 (reproduced here).

Rahman, who had been involved in the assassination of President Anwar Sadat in Cairo, fled to America in 1990 and was free to set up his terrorist shop in New Jersey. The New York police eventually found 47 boxes of Rahman’s terrorist literature. In a tremendous paroxysm of moral relativism, the boxes were marked, "Irrelevant religious stuff.” Law enforcement totally missed the very reason for the attacks and failed to connect them to the worldwide movement that had fueled it. They saw Muslim Brother Sheikh Rahman’s organization as a fanatic splinter group. The blind cleric was apprehended and in 1996 was sentenced to life in prison for seditious conspiracy.

On the day of the attack, my dear friend Yigal Carmon flew to Washington, DC early in the morning to warn the Pentagon that radical Islamists were planning an attack on New York City, and that the threat was imminent. Yigal was head of security in Israel under Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, a position similar to that of our head of Homeland Security. Yigal told me the liberals in Washington smiled and said, "We don’t consider religion to be a threat to us.” They were wrong, and the attack occurred a few hours later.

President Bill Clinton was more interested in implementing his economic program than keeping the US safe, neither he nor anyone else paid in government much attention to the bombing. In his regular radio address the day after the bombing, Mr. Clinton mentioned the "tragedy” (he never once used the word "bomb” or "terrorist” in the address) and never mentioned the incident in public again. Nor did he ever visit the site of the blast. His Liberal Left belief was that people are not intrinsically evil and only need education, tolerance, and understanding—a New Age philosophy. As one of his first international projects, newly-elected President Mohamed Morsi declared on June 29, 2012, that he will work to secure the release of the "Blind Sheikh.” His demand that the terrorist be returned to Egypt was a letdown for those in the West who were hoping to champion Morsi as a moderate. The call for the release of Rahman, an ally of Osama bin Laden, is a red flag to Egypt watchers.

Last May a speech given by Morsi proclaimed that "the Koran was and will continue to be our constitution.” He continued by saying that when the Egyptian constitution was redrawn, it would "truly reflect [the shariah or Islamic] law.” He added, "This nation will enjoy blessing and revival only through the Islamic shariah…Jihad is our path. And death for the sake of Allah is our most lofty aspiration.” Does that sound like a moderate, pro-West president?

Founded in 1928 by an educator and imam, Hassan al-Banna, the Muslim Brotherhood began as a small group based on the structure of other organizations familiar to al-Banna. The group’s founder was said to be a devoted follower of Adolf Hitler’s political viewpoint. Al-Banna could relate to Hitler’s anti-Semitism, his predilection for brutality, and his determination to bring Britain to her knees. In 1942 Al-Banna established local Brotherhood divisions in Palestine and Transjordan. His love for all things Hitler transformed into both overt and covert operations. Hitler was aided by Al-Banna’s minions in his attempts to erase the Jewish people from posterity. The Brotherhood effectively closed the door for Jewish immigration into the safety of Palestine. Riots in the British protectorate caused them to kowtow to demands that avenues of escape from Europe to Palestine be sealed. The Brotherhood and the Nazi Party had common ground: Hatred for the Jews, for democracy, and for Western culture. Al-Banna’s organization secretly became the fifth Parliament, a covert army inside Egypt.

The Muslim Brotherhood today is still a deeply anti-Semitic organization and as a member, Morsi has continually side-stepped the question of whether or not he would honor the peace treaty with Israel. When asked if he would renounce terrorism against Israel, he led the questioner through a maze of rhetoric: "What’s going on [sic] the Palestinian land is resistance…The resistance is acceptable by all mankind and it’s the right of the people to resist.” The kind of resistance touted by Morsi is the use of suicide bombers and rockets to target the innocent population in Israel, not to mention attacks against US troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Red flags regarding Morsi’s true allegiance continue to float high above Egypt. On the one hand, he has promised to lead his country toward a "civil state, a nationalist state, a constitutional state, a modern state.” At the same time, he calls for the release of a terrorist whose mantra is jihad.

In a recent visit to Egypt to meet with both Morsi and Foreign Minister Mohamed KamelAmr, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton flew her own red flag. She underscored US resolve to help the recovery of the Egyptian economy. She announced particulars of a $1 billion package heralded last year by President Barack Obama. Clinton was also set to discuss a US-Egyptian Enterprise Fund of $60 million in the first year of operation. Yet another gift to the country was a $250 million package to aid small businesses prior to a visit by a US delegation in September.

All of this capital is going to a country that has the potential to be a deadly enemy to Israel at any moment. The question remains: Why are American tax dollars being used to fund terrorists in the Middle East?

A precious and powerful prayer for you

The Aaronic prayer—the prayer of the high priest for the blessing of God to come upon the people of God—was actually dictated by God Himself. He told Aaron through Moses what and how he should pray…and it is one of the most precious and powerful prayers in the entire Bible.

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them, The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them” (Numbers 6:22-27).

I am praying this prayer over you for the blessing of God upon every part of your life today. Please join me right now and pray it out loudly. We need God’s power and blessing for this day, and in faith we can claim it together. And we need to urgently stand for Israel; the threats against the Jewish state and the Jewish people are growing day by day.

I stood at the press conference and confronted the Secretary of State over Israel

In 1991 I went to the Middle East Peace Conference held in Madrid, Spain. The entire purpose of this meeting of world powers was to sell out Israel and force the Jewish state to hand over Jerusalem. In the press conference, I stood and confronted Secretary of State James Baker over Israel. I told him that no matter what he proposed, God had already settled the issue of Jerusalem; it is the capital of the Jewish people, and it is the city where God has placed His name forever.

There were over 100 journalists from around the world, many of them from Muslim nations, in that room as I spoke to Mr. Baker. Many of them were so angry that they hissed like snakes as I asked, “Mr. Secretary, every capital in the world is recognized as a capital except for Jerusalem. Will you recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital?” He refused.

We need to defend the Jewish state and the Jewish people around the world. more than ever.  Visit the  Jerusalem Prayer Team website to show your support for God's Chosen Nation and and global peace.
